It’s mid February and there’s been several frosty mornings in the last week and little to no rainfall for a while so I knew the chalk stream wouldn’t be dirty and the water levels down .
There wasn’t a morning frost but clear overcast conditions for the day and gentle wind to give my first grayling attempt on the fly a go .
Using the Fishpass app for directions I arrived at beat 1 Weston’s ( Bampton ) at the farm . Parking as instructed in front of the barn using the description on the beat of the requirements of what’s allowed and which kit it recommends to use on this beat .
The app has all the info you need in where to go , what to use and even shows the recent catches on the many beats . The app uses tokens to fish the various locations and spots for different species ,which come out as £15 for 5 tokens on the app . These stay on here forever til you use them which is only accessible after putting your fishing
